    Systems Planning & Design

    Our Objective is Your Success

For more than ten years, ENS-Inc has established a reputation of trust with our customers by delivering proven reliable and scalable technology solutions. With each virtualization project we seek to meet or exceed customer expectations. As we approach your virtualization systems planning and design, you can be confident that your projects with be completed on time, on budget, and within scope.

ENS-Inc analyzes and evaluates each virtualization project so that its implementation will work effectively and efficiently in both the current and planned IT infrastructure. A key component to the development of each virtualization project is the cost of maintenance in addition to its cost-effectiveness to enhance.

ENS-Inc develops and deploys your virtualization solution and then also provides the onsite training and knowledge transfer to empower your success.

    The Product Life Cycle (PLC)

Today’s IT systems are complex and often link multiple traditional systems potentially supplied by different software vendors. To manage this level of complexity, our team approaches your virtualization systems planning and design project using a Product Life Cycle (PLC) approach which is a simplistic and structured approach to software and systems engineering life cycles.

Several different variations of these life cycle models are utilized including:

    • Waterfall – Sequential or big-design-up-front (BDUF) models focus on complete and correct planning to guide large projects and risks to successful and predictable results.
    • Agile – Methodologies focus on light-weight processes which allow for rapid changes along the development cycle.
    • Spiral – Combines elements of both design and prototyping-in-stages in an effort to combine advantages of top-down and bottom-up concepts. The spiral model is intended for large, expensive, and complicated projects.

The ENS-Inc team works with our customers to evaluate business and technical needs to determine the most appropriate approach.

Proven Methodologies and Best Practices from Industry Leaders

The ENS-Inc team approaches your virtualization systems planning and design project using best practices (Link to Best Practices page) and standard methodologies (link to Project Management Page) built from standard frameworks set forth by industry leaders such as the Project Management Institute (PMI). (external link to www.pmi.org)The ENS-Inc project approach incorporates best practices for coordinating, executing, and managing software and systems engineering projects.

Our industry-leading expertise coupled with high-level vendor collaboration supports your business transformation, reduces costs, and eases management by providing a cohesive, business-driven virtualization strategy and design based on vendor specific combined best practices and experiences. By establishing a standard and repeatable methodology for each endeavor, our team is able to provide our customers with the best service and quality products.

Management, Control, and the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

When approaching your virtualization systems planning and design, the ENS-Inc team first breaks down the project into distinct phases:

    • Project definition
    • User requirements definition
    • System requirements definition
    • Analysis and design
    • System build/prototype/pilot
    • Implementation and training

Within each phase, key deliverables are determined and tasks are outlined. The Project Manager establishes and monitors control objectives during each phase.

The Work Breakdown Structure identifies the phases and milestones of the project while providing the timeline and project description. The tasks are developed and the coordinated efforts of the entire ENS-Inc team are coordinated and provide measurable output each step along the way.
